The R.O.A.D Database Welcomes Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TRAFCON Industries
Cato, NY, April 2022 — R.O.A.D, the Real Ontime Accurate Data (R. O. A. D.)™ for Work Zones, and TRAFCON, a quality manufacturer of Arrow Boards, vehicle and skid mounts, custom Portable Equipment Platforms (PEP), and Incident Management Trailers, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to become a supplier of data to its database of roadway obstructions due to work zones.
R.O.A.D, the Real Ontime Accurate Data (R. O. A. D.)™ for Work Zones has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TRAFCON Industries, a manufacturer and supplier of Arrow Boards, traffic control Message Boards, and Incident management Trailers to provide data to the R.O.A.D database.
TRAFCON will provide the R.O.A.D platform with information directly from their connected-Message Boards/Signs across the country. This data supplier agreement has the capability to expand data transfers from other TRAFCON product lines, enriching the advance warnings of lane and road closures in the R.O.A.D system.
The Real Ontime Accurate Data (R. O. A. D.)™ for Work Zones is a cloud-based database of road event data supplied by preeminent equipment and infrastructure developers, IoT equipment retrofit companies, construction operators, maintenance and traffic control companies. These organizations all work together to provide data for safer roads into a national database that represents an industry-first that includes the actual producers of work-zone information, collectively known as the Work-Zone Data Industry (WZDi™).
The R.O.A.D Database will adhere to the established protocol of data feeds for the collection and distribution of information related to the location and activity of road work developed by The Federal Geographic Data Committee Transportation Subcommittee Work Zone Data Working Group, also known as the WZDx. R.O.A.D. intends to enhance this feed with additional certification of valid traffic control components with secure, documented data transfers, with a verified chain of custody from the field device to the client. This extra layer of compliance is the WZDi’s process of ensuring that the data produced is accurate, timely, and meaningful.
